Take a look at Marcus in situ.
Di went to take some photo's of Mr Cliffe at his newly developed studio in South London.
He brushes up well...

  1. Studio looks great! Interesting T-shirt... Hoping MC can squeeze some work in on the the new album between glamorous photo shoots. Raring to hear the results!

Meanwhile, I'm slogging through Sun Kil Moon's latest opus. Typical Kozelek, plodding and miserable but with a little something extra here. Listen to the lyrics of "UK Blues" and try not to smile...

  2. Sun Kil Moon getting mixed reviews here; I normally order everything MK does but have been put off a bit by his ever regular sulks... maybe he's being 'ironic'; come across a bit lame...
It's been a while since I heard anything off Cassidy's Care, wondering if it will see 2012...

  3. Yeah, I don't know what MK was thinking here. Not a fraction as good as April or Ghosts. Seems he's mumbling lazily written diary entries about how shitty getting old and being a musician is, giving the finger to everything and everybody. Not growing old gracefully I'm afraid.
Funny 'coz I got Rosie Thomas' latest the same day and it's the polar opposite, so icky sickly sweet... I love Rosie but she has always walked a fine line, and this time she's fallen straight into the mush...
Picked up Mary Chapin Carpenter's latest last night. First listen sounds fine, profound lyrics. There's a gal with class and grace...

  4. Currently driving into work to MCC's latest; sounds lovely (if a little one paced, which is no problem for me, but I've read it as criticism - see also Buchanan!). I'm drawn to the last song; a simple classic.
Also aquired Shawn Colvin's latest 'All Fall Down' which is taking its time also... love her voice; the songs are less immediate than usual. THe two tour together soon; a potent combination that I've witnessed before. Just the two of them acoustically I believe...
