Corsica Bound: Diary of Departure: 2

Monday:
As usual I wake to an empty bed.
Di’s up and at ‘em.
She has work to do, washing, dusting, polishing.
We intend to put the house up for sale and Lucy from Etoile the Estate Agent’s visits tomorrow to value and take pictures for the website and shop window.
The sun’s up over the mountain but the forecast is not good, so we make the most of things and spend the morning on the bottom terrace drinking coffee and soaking up some much needed rays.
Despatched off to Aregno late morning to do a shop.
I’m sent out for essentials and come back with chicken, wine, fresh basil and beer. I’ve forgotten toilet paper, milk, corn flakes, dishwasher tablets and toe polish remover.
Interesting what women regard as essential.
A lazy day of sunshine and cloud…
Top terrace for the sunset above with a glass or two of rose then a dinner of linguine with smoked pork lardons and cream.
Bed, book and brandy.
The Ipod gives us Arvo Part’s ‘Alina’.
Perfect.
Song of the day: ‘Spiegel Im Spiegel’
